Indiana Small-Sided Referee Certification
The Small-Sided Referee Certification helps foster the development of new referees starting at the age of 12 years old. Upon successful completion of the certification, the new referees work with a mentor at recreational games before moving to the travel games.
Club AR/Guardians of the Game Program
The Guardians of the Game program allows each club team to have a minimum of 2 Indiana Soccer Association Club Assistant Referees, (AR’s) who will step in when the referee crew is short due to a no-show to allow games to continue.
Indiana Soccer Referee Association
The Indiana Soccer Referee Association is the recognized extension of U.S. Soccer’s Referee Program for the state of Indiana. Its mission is to provide referee education, licensing, mentoring, coaching, and support for Indiana referees.
Becoming A Referee Is Simple
Referees are an important part of the game of soccer. Without referees, the game of soccer cannot go on. The soccer referee does more than administer the Laws of the Game.
He or she is responsible for the entire event including activities before, during, and after the game. The referee is the final decision maker in matters relating to the play and his/her decisions are biding.
The referee works hand in hand with two assistant referees or even three during big games. Click the link to learn more about how to become a referee. Here is a look at the soccer referee’s responsibilities, which are focused on ensuring a smooth running of the game.
